KARRINE

The next day, I met Chyna at her job. She called to tell me that she had hooked up an interview for me with her boss, but when I got there, I was surprised to find out that her boss was more than a boss. He was her new man, and she couldn’t wait to introduce him to me.

“Desmon, this is my sister, Karrine,” Chyna said as we went into his office. “My hope is that you’ll be able to find her a position within the company.”

Desmon stood up to shake my hand. Chyna had done real good, and quite frankly, so had Simone. She was still dating one of her professors, and Desmon came off as an educated businessman who had his shit together. He was fine as ever, and the tailored suit he wore clung to his athletic frame perfectly. I was impressed, and I hoped that my constant stares didn’t make him or Chyna uncomfortable.

“Have a seat,” he said. “I want to hear all about your experience, and tell me why I should hire you for the customer service position?”

Chyna excused herself from the room, leaving us alone. Unfortunately, the only customer service experience I had to offer him was what I had learned through video porn, but I couldn’t tell him about that. Since Honey had been providing for me, technically, I didn’t have shit to talk to Desmon about. What I did, though, was share the experience I had from doing volunteer work several years ago, and I’d also done some work for a non-profit organization. I couldn’t tell if Desmon was satisfied with my answers or not. All he did was jot down things on a piece of paper and nod his head.

He reminded me so much of Idris Elba and seemed much older than Chyna. But as far as I saw it, she had hit the jackpot. I thought that way for a while, but then I got a glimpse of his ring. My eyes scanned his office, and that was when I noticed him in several pictures with another woman I assumed to be his wife.

After twenty more minutes, the interview was over. Desmon told me that he would be in touch, and then he thanked me for coming. I thanked him too.

Chyna was waiting for me in the lobby. She looked real nice in her navy blue suit and white shirt. I had never seen her look so classy and she had a real glow about her.

“So, how did it go,” she asked as we walked to the elevator together.

“It went okay. I didn’t have much experience to share with him, and I started to tell his ass how much cash I made doin’ video porn.”

Chyna laughed. “It wouldn’t have surprised him because I already told him what was up with that. No matter what, I do believe the job is yours, if you want it. Did he say when he was goin’ to call you?”

“He didn’t say. Just said he would be in touch.
